A pan-India spa chain approached Bayhauz Design Studio to design three outlets at Mumbai's Terminal 2 Airport. Following the success of our first 25 sqm kiosk at Terminal 2, Bayhauz Design Studio was commissioned to design a larger 77 sqm spa lounge in the domestic duty-free area. Within this footprint, we explored multiple layouts and design skins, experimenting with materials ranging from stone and woodwork to glass bricks and lime-finished walls.

The final scheme managed to house four therapy rooms with two shower cabins, a hall for zero-gravity massage chairs, and an attached pantry and reception. The material palette created a warm, earthy atmosphere: beige and soft yellow wall textures, brown granite floors, and handmade paper panels softly glowing with light from the therapy rooms. A beautiful earthy glazed tile was chosen for wall cladding in the couple therapy rooms as well giving a unique finish in these therapy rooms. Together, these elements gave the spa a welcoming identity, distinct from yet connected to the earlier kiosk.
Visual merchandising, designed by SO Design Lab in consultation with Bayhauz, punctuated the elevation with curated elements that clearly communicated the range of services offered. This project, like the first, demanded speed, precision, and collaboration. With strict timelines set by airport authorities, our team coordinated closely with clients, contractors, and on-site execution teams to deliver high-quality drawings and ensure smooth realization. The resulting space demonstrates how identity, atmosphere, and efficiency can be achieved within the tight constraints of a busy international terminal.
